It makes no sense! 19 year old boys do not come back from college on a Halloween weekend and take only of-age girls to a party and have an oragie in catacombs of an old church. I liked the main characters and the overall theme of the story–that things aren\’t always as they seem. I understand that authors are always trying to find new and inventive ways to tell a story, but the \”shock factor\” is getting old. Not because it lacked anything in particular, it just seemed to push the wrong boundaries. ![]() ![]() We’ll also explore different interpretations of the historical examples that Acemoglu and Robinson discuss.ġ-Page Summary 1-Page Book Summary of Why Nations Fail Through our commentary, we’ll provide alternative perspectives on what causes a nation to fail or succeed. Exclusive nations-those with restricted and unfair economies and governments-fail. Hoping the bones belonged to the missing child in case he was never able to solve, Nelson is disappointed to learn the bones are from the iron age. However, her quiet, orderly, slightly dull life is rudely upended when she is approached by Detective Chief Inspector Nelson to examine a child’s bones found on a beach. She is unmarried and lives with her two cats. Ruth is a forensic archaeologist in her late thirties. While this first book has some issues, I understand now why the series is so popular. I went in blind, however, not really knowing what the premise was, and I'm glad I did. So many of my GR friends read the Ruth Galloway series, making me wildly curious about it for a long time. ![]() ![]() The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths is a 2010 publication. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nonetheless, the ascetical struggle to cultivate the interior silence necessary to enter these imaginative worlds (both fiction and non-fiction) will undoubtedly be richly rewarded. ![]() As such, it will be an effort for some to become immersed in these books.
